Since we were free this morning - and so was admission to the Crocker Museum - we spent a couple of hours in the galleries. We eavesdropped on a tour guide in the California Gallery, and learned about the use of red in 19th century artwork, and about the Romans and the Sabines (yes, in the California Gallery). We perused the collection of European paintings, several of which were purchased by the Crocker family while touring Europe from 1869-1871. But this house of mirrors was really intriguing - and the best photo of the day.
