| Growing up, I knew Mrs. Ennis simply as Becca and Kevin’s mom. But at her memorial service today, as is often the case, I learned a lot more about the other activities that filled her days. One of my favorite stories was about the time when she was fighting band promoters who wanted to hold more late night concerts at the Rose Bowl. Cordie led the opposition on behalf of the quiet Linda Vista neighborhood. She was tenacious, and won the battle. Which might have surprised the big name bands – but didn’t surprise those who knew her. |
