The original plan was to arrive in Chicago by late afternoon and go on one of the evening boat tours. But we made good time on the Indiana tollway and were in town with plenty of time to walk back to the dock area and take a late afternoon tour of the river and Lake Michigan. We learned so much about the history and the architecture of the city. 

Afterwards, we joined the crowds at Lou Malnati's for dinner. I guess we're not big fans of deep dish pizza, but it was still a lively and interesting experiences, both the hour-long wait and the meal. 

Then, we walked back to our hotel, where we were asleep before our heads hit the pillows.
