Joe and I had flown here for a weekend in 1985 on a small private plane flown by John, the husband of a co-worker in the Govenror's Office. John was an experiencd air force pilot and told us (afterwards) that the landing on Catalina was the second hardest he'd experienced in his career (the first was in a deep canyon in Korea). But today our arrival was much more conventional - on a cruise liner and the ship's tender.
