My two days in Washington DC were overscheduled with meetings, so I knew I would have to get out early on the first morning if I wanted to have time to walk around Capitol Hill.

I peaked inside a brick summer house nestled in the hillside on the northwest side of the Capitol building, then made my way past Olmstead Terrace and took in the view of the Mall, then looped around to the front of the building, through the Park and finally back to the historic hotel where I was staying.
