My choice of overalls and a well worn t-shirt for Katie didn't sit well with her this afternoon.  She insisted on wearing this party dress instead.

I tried to explain the concept of 'all dressed up and nowhere to go' but was unsuccessful, and she ended up wearing the outfit.

So as not to waste a nice clean dress, we headed to the market -- where I ran into a dear friend whom I hadn't seen in many years.  It was wonderful catching up on our lives and hearing about mutual acquaintances. 

And if Katie could talk, she'd no doubt say, "See, I told you so, mom..."
