1969-1972 

 

In 1969, we had a Doughboy above ground swimming pool. As I recall, we bought it from a family in Pasadena and then brought it to Vista Lane a few pieces at the time. After clearing the ground and pouring sand to create a soft bottom, we painstakingly assembled the galvanized steel side panels which were a challenge to bend and insert in the base.  We replaced it a few years later with a built-in (last two photos), but it was great fun - and a neighborhood attraction - for several years.
