They used to see each other at least once a week at church, and then nearly every day when they were both teaching at Clairbourne School in San Marino - Mom as a first grade teacher and LaDorna as a PE instructor and coach.
But their paths took them far from Southern California for many years - mom and dad up to Sonoma County and LaDorna to Georgia.
But both are back in the Southland (at least part-time) and it was so good to see them together again, sharing stories and laughing.
After we said our good-byes and were driving back to Long Beach, mom said "it was like no time had passed" which is the way it should be with such good friends.
I can't wait until we meet up again.
