Katie and I were both having rough weeks at work, so we put four pieces of paper marked N, S, E and W in a hat to determine when direction we would head for a ditch day road trip.  (Luckily, we didn't pick West, or that would have been a short adventure).  East it was so we drove out to Palm Springs for lunch and sightseeing.
