What better way to have Dad's spirit at tomorrow's celebration of his life than to be surrounded by family, friends and the bounty of the garden he loved. Tonight, we gathered flowers and greenery from the yard and crafted beautiful centerpieces that we will place on the tables.
Also tonight, Dad's oldest friend, Bob Mulford, and his wife came by for a few hours and shared many stories about Dad that we'd never heard. You see, Bob met Dad on the first Sunday at the Christian Science church in Long Beach, on the first Sunday after he was adopted. They became friends, and their paths crossed again at college and many times over the years. It was like having a piece of Dad with us, and I'm very grateful for that.
