Jamestown, New York

April 16, 2022

Today, we made the long drive across New York state to Jamestown, birthplace of Lucille Ball and home to the National Comedy Museum.

I was a bit reluctant when the idea was first proposed, but it turned out to be a great day. Driving over, we listened to a multi-episode podcast about Lucy's amazing and groundbreaking life story which  prepped us for all we were about to see.

The Comedy Museum was great - I was really sorry we didn't have more time to spend there and see all the exhibits. And then we walked a couple of blocks down the street to the Lucille Ball Museum where we stayed until closing.

It was still daylight so before heading up to Buffalo, we drove over to nearby Chautuaqua Lake to see the Lucy statue and drive by her childhood home.
