I needed one more flight this year to hang on to my Southwest status for 2023, so Katie and I decided to take a quick trip over to Phoenix. We had no idea what we would do once we arrived, but had a great time downtown, taking a couple of short hikes in the desert, cooling off with some delicious ice cream ("your tongue will stay blue for about 30 minutes" after eating the Cookie Monster flavor, he correctly told Katie) and then snagging a table at what many have deemed the restaurant with the world's best pizza. For the record, Katie and I enjoyed our lunch but wouldn't place it at the top of our list.  But then again, we've had a truly spiritual experience with pizza and that's going to be hard for anyone to beat.
