I met Becca in kindergarten and, thanks largely to her hard work to keep us Linda Vista kids connected, we've stayed in touch all these years. Her brother, Kevin, was in Jerry's class so the four or us spent a lot of time together at school, birthday parties, scouting and other events. Several months ago, Becca invited me to join her, Kevin and Michael at the Hollywood Bowl to see Kenny Loggins. A few days before the concert, the show got canceled because of COVID, but then was rescheduled for tonight. I had a particularly bad day at the office and left mid-afternoon. My plan was to find a parking lot somewhere near the bowl, or at one of the shuttle parking lots. But I timed it right and arrived just as the bowl lots opened, giving me a coveted spot in the first row of the massive stack parking areas. For the next couple of hours, I was able to sit outside the main gate with a couple of dozen other early birds, listening to the bands rehearse and shedding some of the work nonsense that has become a burden of late. When Becca, Kevin and Michael got there, we had a great dinner and then enjoyed a truly wonderful evening of songs we first heard and loved so many years ago.
