When Lisa came home early from her scheduled time at the hospital, we knew that we couldn't just sit around the house and count the hours until tomorrow morning's Match Day decision.

So we hopped in the car and drove several hours across the state to explore Utica and some of the surrounding towns. Our big finds included the second oldest pizzeria in the United States, treats from a nearly century-old Italian bakery, and sleuthing to learn more about the crime spree of Mary Runkel who was hanged in 1847 for killing all, some or possibly none of her family members, and stealing towels.

The drive back included a stop at Saratoga Springs (as most good day trips do) for coffee and a walk up and down the main street.
