It's been more than four months since we were at the office together, but today Dee and I met up at Crystal Cove state park for a long walk from one end of the beach to the other. And then when we climbed back up to the top of the hill, she surprised me with brunch and a birthday party. Complete with mimosas, cake, presents and balloons -- that stayed with us for at least part of the celebration.
