New York and Massachusetts
Traveling is
much harder now, but I was anxious to see Lisa and the New England fall
foliage. So, armed with facemasks and plenty of hand sanitizer, I made
the cross-country flight. On Saturday morning, we picked up the apple, maple and sugar donuts that Lisa had ordered, and started winding our way over to the Berkshires. We had a bit of a mishaps mid-day when a driver rear-ended our car. But after a short stop to exchange information with a local police officer, we were back on our way. Our lunch stop was Stockbridge, which was a really cute town but also very crowded with plenty of tourists like us. From there, we drove over to Holyoke, stopped at the cemetery in South Hadley, and then followed the Connecticut River north. The scenery was beautiful, though we guessed that peak foliage might still be a week or so away. But the weather was perfect and it was fun to be on the road again. |
