Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Trail Ridge Road is the 48-mile "Highway to the Sky" that connects Rocky Mountain National Park's east and west sides. It crests at over 12,000 feet, above the tree line, and then dips back down to reveal evergreen forests, the source of the Colorado River, lush meadows, mountain lakes and wildlife sightings (we saw marmots and elk). ------------------------------------
