A couple of months ago, I had an idea for a commercial to promote water
conservation in a rather clever way (if I do say so myself). I shared the concept with some my very talented co-workers and they elevated it beyond what I could have imagined: drafting story boards, planning a shot list, finding the perfect location (for free), building the budget, casting the actors, getting the props and costumes, and finally, filming the video. Coincidentally, another project I'm working on today compared the costs of some of our previous projects using outside consultants with similar ones we have done in-house. The television commercial that an advertising agency created for our conservation campaign three years ago cost more than $500,000. This one we did today? Less than $10,000. I can hardly wait to see the finished product - but I already know it's going to be great. |
