I'd been warned about a steep narrow one-lane road to get down to Pfeiffer beach. But I guess my years of driving on Summer Home Park Road have steeled me when it comes to crazy roads that lead to great things.

But once we arrived, it was indeed beautiful and unspoiled with great views of the offshore rocks and sea stacks. Parts of the beach also have purple sand, that we were told by the ranger are created from manganese garnet particles washing down the hillside.
