I won't say it entirely lived up to the hype and my years of anticipation, but it was fun to see the decorations in the store and spend a few minutes with Santa.

Macy's accepts reservations for its Santaland experience starting at
6am, five days prior to one's planned visit. That's 6am EST - so that's 3am in
California. Earlier this week, I set my alarm for that wee hour of
the morning so I could wake up and secure our place in line for today.
