It was a long and grueling trip to Bangkok. LAX was more crowded than I've ever seen - a combination of holiday traffic and a sudden rainstorm that delayed our departure by more than an hour. That was followed by two long flights when we all asked ourselves more than once, "Just how much more does business class cost?" But we finally arrived at BKK around noon on Christmas Eve and I was able to rally, thanks to Lisa and Katie, and Judy and Craig. We raised our blood sugar with some deliciously sweet fresh fruit and then navigated the new subway to a nearby shopping area where we browsed and took in the city views from the rooftop garden before heading back to the house for dinner and a long winter's nap. Or as much as the jet lag would allow.
